(Type S) Single Row Deep
Groove Ball Bearing

MRC S-type single-row ball bearings have no
filling notches and can carry significant radial loads.
Because of the uninterrupted raceway grooves and the high
degree of conformity between balls and raceways, they can
carry substantial thrust loads in either direction, even at
very high speeds. Offered open or with single or double
shields or seals, as well as with snap-rings in various
combinations. Available in 1900, 100, 200, 300, 400 Series.

(Type M) Single-Row Filling-Notch Ball Bearing

MRC's single-row maximum capacity "M-type"
bearings offer two important advantages over other
single-row types when used for heavily loaded positions:
They offer maximum radial load-carrying capacity and they
have the ability to carry heavy combined radial and thrust
loads. MRC M-type bearings are also referred to as a
"notch" type because they have a filling notch on one side
of the inner and outer rings. Available in 100, 200, 300,
& 400 Series.

(R Series, 7000 Series, XLS) Single Row Angular Contact Ball Bearing

MRC R-type bearings feature one heavy race
shoulder and one counterbored race shoulder on the outer
ring. Because of this construction, it is possible to
incorporate a greater number of balls than in the
deep-groove nonfilling notch bearing. MRC R-type bearings
have ample radial and thrust capacity for the majority of
applications involving heavy radial load, heavy single
direction thrust load or both. Available in 1900, 100,
200, 300 Series.

(9000 Series) Split Ring Angular Contact Ball Bearings

MRC also supplies a split inner ring 9000
Series angular contact bearing. These bearings are usually
matched with a 7000 Series bearing of the same size and
contact angle. This arrangement offers two bearing thrust
capacity in one direction and one bearing thrust capacity
in the opposite direction. Single 9000 Series bearings are
also available.

(8000 Series) PumPac

PumPac is an MRC bearing system designed as a unique
solution to the common problem of premature thrust bearing
failures in high speed centrifugal pumps, as well as other
applications where duplexed angular contact ball bearings
are used. PumPac is a matched set of bearings, consisting
of a 40 degree angular contact ball bearing mounted
back-to-back with a 15 degree contact-angle bearing. The
40 degree contact-angle bearing supports the primary
thrust load during operation, while the 15 degree
contact-angle bearing handles reverse thrust during
start-up and shut down, and supports radial loads during
normal operation. PumPac bearings are manufactured to ABEC
3 tolerances, with special machined bronze cages, and are
high-temperature stabilized. By using PumPac system, ball
sliding and shuttling are virtually eliminated, resulting
in lower operating temperatures, stable oil viscosity,
consistent oil film thickness and longer service life.
The Diamond system, designed for hydrodynamically balanced pumps with low thrust loads,
feature ABEC 3 tolerances, high temperature stabilization,
and a special heavy duty bronze retainer. Two 15 degree
bearing set back-to-back replace the standard PumPac 40
and 15 degree set of bearings. A "V" is etched on each
bearing O.D. of the 15 degree bearings. When the bearings
are arranged back-to-back, the V's are joined to form a
diamond shape.

Cartridge Type Bearings

Cartridge type bearings are used in
applications where space for a lubrication system is
limited or conditions demand a larger grease supply inside
the bearings. MRC can supply unique versions of this
product using special greases or no-drag labyrinth seals,
as well as standard versions with SZZC (full contact
seals) and SFFC (metal shields). Available in most 200 &

Cylindrical Roller Bearings

The cylindrical roller bearings listed in this catalog are
single-row, radial roller bearings. The length of the rollers
in these bearings is usually equal to their diameter. Either
the inner or outer ring of each roller bearing has integral
flanges on both sides of the raceway for accurate guiding of
the rollers. The cage and rollers usually become a unit
assembly with the double flanged ring. The cage, if it is
land-riding, is piloted on the ground outer diameter or inner
diameter land surfaces of the flange shoulders or with only
one flange. MRC Bearings manufactures five standard roller
bearing types.
Rollers
MRC Bearings roller bearings are assembled with crowned
rollers for uniform load distribution along the contact length
and to avoid edge loading. The rollers are true cylinders at
the center and are ground in varying radii at the end. The
specific radii depends on the application. This type of roller
also lessens failures caused by misalignment. A special
version of crowning developed by SKF; (i.e., logarithmic
crowning) can be used to maximize bearing endurance while
providing all of the benefits mentioned earlier. MRC Bearings
can supply bearings with logarithmic crown rollers upon
special request.
Diameters, lengths and other roller dimensions in all roller
bearings are held to extremely close tolerances to provide
maximum operating efficiency. Standard practice is to furnish
bearings with crowned rollers and flat inner and outer
raceways. However, raceways can be crowned upon request.
Cages
Cages for MRC Bearings cylindrical roller bearings are
custom-engineered. In the one-piece machined cage, the rollers
are retained in the pockets by retention features on the cross
webs at the cage bore or outside diameter or both depending on
the bearing type. Roller drop within the cage pockets can be
made sufficiently large to allow cages to be separated from
double-flanged inner or outer rings or they can be held to a
minimum for ease of assembly. One-piece cages are normally
piloted on the land diameter of the double-flanged ring.
Construction
Bearings designated by the prefix "MR", offer a marked
advancement in roller bearing performance. For those
applications not requiring the greater radial load-carrying
capacity of the "MR" bearings, MRC Bearings continues to offer
the "R" roller bearings.
